Confidence Comes From God
How can we wake up each morning with unshakable confidence in a sinful world that thrives on chaos? Proverbs 3:26 says, “Don’t fear sudden danger or the ruin of the wicked when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from a snare.”
Fear not. Scripture is full of scenarios reminding us that we will face unforeseen battles, and that this world is terribly compromised. I always think about the fact that God is omnipotent; his spirit is all around us, surrounding every gossip-fueled fireside chat, present for those awkward neighborhood dinner parties and always a call away for that late night cry sesh. We will experience Friendship fallouts and disappointments. We will walk through seasons of suffering and heartache. But He's there. There will be situations that cause us to question our faith…but He’s there. Remember, you are his daughter who is invited to walk in boldness, and wear His confidence no matter what the circumstances may be.
We are able to avoid the ruin of the wicked because he is our protector.
We are confident knowing He is establishing our character.
He is in control of our days.
There may be battles lost, but we can walk confidently knowing he has won the war.
Having our faith tested is the best thing for us. It's impossible to build muscle without lifting weights, right? Similarly, faith produces confidence just like lifting weights produces muscle. In order for our faith to grow into spiritual confidence there must be first an encounter. An opening for him to exercise his power in and through us. Challenging events create space for the Lord to come in, rearrange, restructure and show us what needs to change for what's coming next! He is constantly unfolding our story exactly as He has always intended.
Where there is an invitation, there will be a celebration. And over time, those celebrations establish a mature, unshakable confidence.
God's word is not only a guiding lamp for your feet as you walk through life, His word simultaneously illuminates and makes new your inner life! God's promises were not written out of convenience, they are not compromised or artificial flavors of the month. Quite the contrary, his words are divinely inspired, are alive and at work, molding your heart to reflect His profound and unchanging nature.
We can have Christ-like confidence; the more we allow him to have influence over our lives, the more we see his miracles, the more steadfast our faith, the more confident we become.
love you, M
